How to Edit a Territory Shape

You can edit an individual territory via the same methods as covered above along with one addition method Drag and Drop for simple shapes. To edit the shape of a territory

Step 1: Either click on the territory or click on the 3 dot menu next to the listing in the tool.

Step 2: For Drawing or Drag and Drop select Edit Territory

Step 3: For Selection using boundaries select Advanced Edit

Edit Method: Drag and Drop

The Edit Method lets you drag and drop the points of your Territory. Note that this method is often not available if you created your territory from other boundaries as it will have too many points for editing to be feasible.

Option A: The bright white dots are the points of your current territory. You can drag them to change your territory

Option B: The paler white dots are points in the center of your lines that are not actually part of your shape until you drag them. Then they are added to your shape and two new points will appear on the 2 new lines that were created by adding a point.

Option C: If you click on any of the bright white dots and X will appear next to them. You can use these to remove that point.

Save: After making any change you can click Save to save your territory

Edit Method: Drawing

The Draw Method lets you draw a shape that you can then choose to either add or subtract from your current territory

Step 1: Make sure you change the method to Draw and click Start

Step 2: Draw the area you want to add or remove from your current territory. A) follow the instructions here if you don't know how to draw a shape

Step 3: Click Save

This will bring up a new popup with 3 options.

Step 4: Select an option

Option A: Add the drawn area to an existing territory - This will combine the new area drawn with an existing territory. You don't need to worry about overlap. Any overlapping area will still remain in the territory.

Option B: Remove the drawn area from an existing territory - This will remove any part of an existing territory that overlaps with the area that you have drawn.

Option C: Reassign the drawn area between territories- This will add the drawn area to an existing territory, but at the same time it will remove the drawn area from any other territories it may overlap with.

Step 5: Click Done.

In this case I choose Option A so the drawn area was added to the existing area

Edit Method: Selection

Step 1: Make sure you change the method to Selection.
