MaptiveIQ - How to Use the Distance Radius Tool
Maptive’s Distance Radius / Drive Time Polygon Tool allows you to draw a circle anywhere on a map. You can add a circle around a marker, by entering an address, or by clicking on the map. Use this tool tp quickly determine distances between your center point and any markers that fall within the radius. You can add as many radii to your map as you need, export from each radius individually or all at once, edit the name, color, and opacity of each radius or radius group, and customize the radius popup bubble.
Open the Radius Tool
Step 1: Open Map Tools.
Step 2: Click on the Distance Radius Circles tool.

Add a circle around any address or marker
Step 1: Select the center point for the circle. With the radius tool open you have 4 options to add an address to the tool.
Option 1: Type in the full address in the starting location area.
Option 2: Click this icon then click any location of on the map.
Option 3: Click this button to add your mobile device location into the starting address.
Option 4: Add the location of a marker on your map.

Option 4 - Step A: Start by clicking on the marker you want to add the circle to. This will cause the right hand menu to open
Option 4 - Step B: Click on the tools icon.
Option 4 - Step C: Click the "Add Radius" tool. This will cause the name tag/address populate into the 'Starting Location' box on the left-hand side options on the screen.
Step 2: Enter the size you want the circle to be in the "Proximity Within" area.
Note: using the dropdown next to the area allows you to switch between miles and kilometers

Step 3 (Optional): Change the appearance of the circle. You can choose A) the color for the circle B) How thick the border is. C) The color of the border.
Step 4: Click on 'Add Proximity Radius' and you'll see it appear on your map along with a listing in the "Selected Proximity Section"

Customize the data that you can see in the radius popup
You can add information from your spreadsheet or demographic data for the US or Canada directly into the statistic you see when clicking on a circle. Just click anywhere within the circle to view the popup on the right-hand side, then click "Customize Metrics". Alternatively, you can customize the popup by clicking the Customize Metrics button in the tool window on the left. You can learn more about the options here: Customizing Metrics

Export locations in a radius to a file
You can export all of the locations in your spreadsheet that fall within any circle, along with the straight line or driving distance from the center to each row of data. There are 2 options on the scope of what you export
Option 1 - Export from a single circle : To do this click on then kabab menu (1A) then select Export Locations
Option 2 - Export from all circle : To do this click on Export File (2)

Export Options
Option A: You can choose to Export your Data as a .xlsx, .tsv, or .csv file or Copy your Data to Clipboard.
Option B: This allows you to return all or just a certain number of markers closest to the center
Option C: If you change to "All Markers outside the Results" the file will contain the spreadsheet data not in the circle. This makes it easier to find data that is not close to your hub locations
Option D: When there are multiple circles you are getting data from, this options let you just return each row once for whichever circle it is closest to.
Option E: This allows you choose between the file including straight line distance, or driving time and distance

Click on Export Now to initiate the download.
Adding Radius Circles to a Group of Markers
You can also apply Proximity Radius circles to groups instead of individual markers. To add radius circles to groups, take the following steps:
Step 1: Switch from Individual Location to Group in the "Apply To" drop down.

Step 2: In the "Select Group Column" dropdown pick a category column from your data, such as group, state, industry, or category as examples.
Step 3: In the "Select Group" dropdown pick the value that you want to. In the example below we will be adding a circle to every marker that has GA in the State column

Step 4: Click 'Add Proximity Radius,' and your new radius circles will appear for the locations within your group

Note: As you filter your data it will also filter the circle on the map.
Drag your radius to a new location.
After you have created a radius you can move it if it was not placed in the correct location
Step 1: Double-click the center point of the radius. Make sure you do not select the actual marker instead.
Step 2: Click and hold anywhere in the radius and drag it to the new spot.
Step 3: Once you have the radius where you want it, click the green check box at the top to save. Click the red x and the radius will go back to where it started.

Edit the name, color, and opacity for your radius.
Step 1: Set your radius on your map.
Step 2: Click on the kebab menu (three dots icon) next to the listed radius in the Proximity Radius Tool. Then select Edit Proximity.

Step 3: A dialogue box will appear with options for customizing how the radius appears on your Map:

You can change the Name of the circle (Proximity Name), the radius (Proximity Within), the color of the inside of the circle (Proximity Fill Color), the color of the outline (Border line color), how transparent the inside of the circle is (Proximity Fill Opacity) , how transparent the border line is (Border Line Opacity), and finally how thick the border line is (Border line stroke)

Step 4: Click Save to see your changes.
