MaptiveIQ - How to use the Drawing Tool
The Drawing Tool offers a convenient way to add information and visual features to your map quickly. To use the Drawing Tool, follow these steps:
Step 1: Open Map Tools.
Step 2: Select the Drawing Tool.

Step 3: Once you select the Drawing Tool, below is the menu of options you'll have:

Each menu option of the drawing tool is numbered and described below:

1. Manage Drawing Elements: Turns off whatever tool you were using so you can use your mouse again.
2. Draw Arrow: Allows you to draw arrows on your map.
3. Draw Callout: Allows you to create a callout bubble on your map.
4. Draw Circle: Allows you to draw circles on your map. (Please note, these are just drawings no data can be extracted with these circles. If you need data, please see Radius Tool)
5. Draw Icon Marker: Allows you to add icons (little signs) on your map.
6. Upload/Display Image: Allows you to upload your images to place on your map.
7. Draw Label: Allows you to add customized labels on your map.
8. Draw Number: Allows you to create and insert bubbled numbers on your map.
9. Draw Polygon: Allows you to draw a polygon on your map. (Please note, these are just drawings no data can be extracted with these polygons. If you need data, please see Territory Drawing Tool).
10. Draw Polyline: Allows you to draw lines on your map.
11. Draw Rectangle: Allows you to draw and insert rectangle shapes on your map. (Please note, these are just drawings no data can be extracted with these polygons. If you need data, please see Territory Drawing Tool).
12. Draw Text: Allows you to type directly on the map.
How to Edit or Delete items you have drawn
Step 1: Click on the item you want to delete or edit
Step 2: To delete click on the red trash can in the right side menu or next to the listing in the drawing tool

Using The Manage Drawing Elements Tool
The Manage Drawing Elements tool is the tool you will select when you want to move around your map (think of it as your cursor) or manage the elements used in the map.
Using The Draw Arrow Tool
To use the Draw Arrow Tool, first select the tool from the list of options so that it is highlighted. Then click on 'Start Drawing' to begin.
Click once from where you want the back of the arrow, and then drag towards anywhere on your map to create the arrow. Click again to release, and your arrow will appear on the map. Once it appears, you can move it anywhere on your map by clicking and dragging.
You can select 'Pause Drawing' and 'Resume Drawing' to make edits or adjustments. Click the back of the arrow to adjust the size of your arrow. You can also adjust the triangle size, stroke opacity, fill opacity, triangle stroke weight, line stroke weight, stroke color, and fill color.
Click on 'Stop Drawing' when you're done using arrows.

Using The Draw Callout Tool
To use the Draw Callout Tool, first select the tool from the list of options so that it is highlighted. Then click on 'Start Drawing' to begin.
Click the area on your map where you'd like to add your callout bubble. Once you click, your bubble will appear on the map, and you can type your text in the callout bubble. You can move the callout text anywhere on your map by clicking and dragging the small circle at the base of the callout.
You can adjust the font size of the callout bubble text, which will proportionately adjust the size of your callout bubble. You can select 'Pause Drawing' and 'Resume Drawing' to make edits or adjustments. You can also adjust the border radius, stroke opacity, fill opacity, stroke weight, font size, stroke color, fill color, and font color.
Click on 'Stop Drawing' when you're done using callouts.

Using the Draw Circle Tool
To use the Draw Circle Tool, first select the tool from the list of options so that it is highlighted. Then click on 'Start Drawing' to begin.
Click the area on your map where you'd like to add your circle (the point where you click will act as a center point of your circle). After you click, drag anywhere to expand your circle. Release your cursor when you're happy with the size of your circle.
You can select 'Pause Drawing' and 'Resume Drawing' to make edits or adjustments. Double-click at any point within your circle to adjust the size and other features. You can also adjust the stroke opacity, fill opacity, stroke weight, stroke color, and fill color.
Click on 'Stop Drawing' when you're done using the circle tool.

Using The Icon Marker Tool
To use the Icon Marker Tool, first select the tool from the list of options so that it is highlighted. Then click on 'Start Drawing' to begin.
Select the icon you'd like to use. From there, click the area on your map where you'd like to add your icon. Once you click, your icon will appear on the map.
Click on 'Pause Drawing' or 'Stop Drawing' when you're done with drawing your icon marker.
You can also select 'Pause Drawing' and 'Resume Drawing' for edits or adjustments. To adjust the location of your marker, first, click on the marker, and then a small circle will appear at the base of the icon marker. Click and drag the icon to adjust the position on the map.
Click on 'Stop Drawing' when you're done using the Icon Marker tool.

Using The Upload/Display Image Tool
To use the Upload/Display Image Tool, first select the tool from the list of options so that it is highlighted. Then click on 'Start Drawing' to begin.
Upload the image(s) you'd like to use in your map or select from the images you've already uploaded. From there, click the area on your map where you'd like to add your image. Once you click, your image will appear on the map.
Double-click the image to adjust the position, modify the appearance of that image, or remove the image from the map. You can select 'Pause Drawing' and 'Resume Drawing' to make edits or adjustments. You can adjust the image size, show/hide image borders, and select image scale with map zoom.
Click on 'Stop Drawing' when you're done using the Upload/Display Image tool.

Using The Draw Label Tool
To use the Draw Label Tool, first select the tool from the list of options so that it is highlighted. Then click on 'Start Drawing' to begin.
Click the area on your map where you want to add your label. Once you click, your label will appear on the map, and you can type your text in the label. You can move the label text anywhere on your map by clicking and dragging the dot.
You can select 'Pause Drawing' and 'Resume Drawing' to make edits or adjustments. You can adjust the font size of the label text, which will proportionately adjust your label size. You can also adjust the dot size, dot color, background color, and font color.
Click on 'Stop Drawing' when you're done using the Draw Label tool.

Using The Draw Number Tool
To use the Draw Number Tool, first select the tool from the list of options so that it is highlighted. Then click on 'Start Drawing' to begin.
First, check the number displayed in the panel (if you're just beginning, you can start with '1' or adjust the number in the panel according to wherever you left off earlier).
Then click the area on your map where you'd like to add your number. Once you click, your bubbled number will appear on the map. You can select 'Pause Drawing' and 'Resume Drawing' to make edits or adjustments.
To move the bubbled number, click 'Pause Drawing,' then, you can move the number anywhere on your map by clicking and dragging. Adjust the size of your bubbled number by clicking and dragging the small circles on the numbered bubble, or you can adjust the 'Radius' from the Edit Number Tool panel.
You can also adjust the stroke opacity, fill opacity, weight, font size, stroke color, fill color, and font color.
Click on 'Stop Drawing' when you're done using the Draw Number tool.

Using The Draw Polygon Tool
To use the Draw Polygon Tool, first select the tool from the list of options so that it is highlighted. Then click on 'Start Drawing' to begin.
Then click the area on your map where you'd like to add your polygon. Once you click, you will need to continue clicking to draw your polygon. Click until you have reached your initial starting point to close the polygon.
You can select 'Pause Drawing' and 'Resume Drawing' to make edits or adjustments. Click and drag any point in your polygon to adjust the size. You can also adjust the stroke opacity, fill opacity, stroke weight, stroke color, and fill color.
Click on 'Stop Drawing' when you're done using the Draw Polygon tool.

Using The Draw Polyline Tool
To use the Draw Polyline Tool, first select the tool from the list of options so that it is highlighted. Then click on 'Start Drawing' to begin.
Then click the area on your map where you'd like to add your polyline. Once you click, you will need to continue clicking to draw your polyline. Click until you have reached your initial starting point to close the polyline (Double-click slightly further through the last point to the end and save your Polyline drawing).
You can select 'Pause Drawing' and 'Resume Drawing' to make edits or adjustments. Click and drag any point in your polyline to adjust the size. You can also adjust the stroke opacity, weight, and color.
Click on 'Stop Drawing' when you're done using the Draw Polyline tool.

Using The Draw Rectangle Tool
To use the Draw Rectangle Tool, first select the tool from the list of options so that it is highlighted. Then click on 'Start Drawing' to begin.
Click the area on your map where you'd like to add your rectangle (the point where you click will act as the starting corner of your square/rectangle). Once you click, drag anywhere to expand your rectangle. Release your cursor when you're happy with the size of your rectangle.
You can select 'Pause Drawing' and 'Resume Drawing' to make edits or adjustments. Click and drag any point in your rectangle to adjust the size. You can also adjust the stroke opacity, fill opacity, stroke weight, stroke color, and fill color.
Click on 'Stop Drawing' when you're done using the Draw Rectangle tool.

Using The Draw Text Tool
To use the Draw Text Tool, first select the tool from the list of options so that it is highlighted. Then click on 'Start Drawing' to begin.
Click the area on your map where you'd like to add your text. Once you click, you can begin typing your text to appear on the map.
You can select 'Pause Drawing' and 'Resume Drawing' to make edits or adjustments. You can customize the text and move it anywhere on your map by clicking and dragging the dot. You can also adjust the font size and font color.
Click on 'Stop Drawing' when you're done using the Draw Text tool.
