How to Use the Drawing Tool

The Drawing Tool offers a convenient way to quickly add additional information and visual features to your map. To use the Drawing Tool, follow these steps:

Step 1: Open Map Tools.

Step 2: Click the Drawing Tool icon.

Step 3: Select from the list of Drawing Tool options. Options are described below:

1. The hand tool will allow you to move around in your map. 
2. The callout tool will allow you to create a callout bubble on your map. 
3. The arrow tool will allow you to create arrows in your map.
4. The number tool will allow you to create and insert bubbled numbers in your map.
5. The polygon tool will allow you to create a polygon anywhere on your map.
6. The circle tool will allow you to create and insert circle shapes in your map. 
7. The polyline tool will allow you to create lines in your map. 
8. The rectangle tool will allow you to create and insert rectangle shapes in  your map.
9. The label tool will allow you to create customized labels in your map.
10. The text tool will allow you to create and insert text into your map.
11. The icon tool will allow you to choose from a handful of icons to include on your map.
12. The image tool will allow you to upload custom images from your computer to include in your map.  


Using The Hand Tool

The hand tool is the tool you will select when you want to move around your map. Think of it as your cursor. 

Using The Callout Tool

To use the Callout Tool, simply select the tool from the list of options so that it is highlighted. Then click the area on your map where you'd like to add your callout bubble. Once you click, your bubble will appear on the map. Once it appears, you can move it anywhere on your map by clicking and dragging. Click the upper right corner to adjust the size of your callout bubble. You can also adjust the border radius, stroke opacity, fill opacity, stroke weight, font size, stroke color, and fill color. 

Using The Arrow Tool

To use the Arrow Tool, simply select the tool from the list of options so that it is highlighted. Then click and drag anywhere on your map to create your arrow. Once you release, your arrow will appear on the map. Once it appears, you can move it anywhere on your map by clicking and dragging. Click the back of the arrow to adjust the size of your arrow. You can also adjust the triangle size, stroke opacity, fill opacity, triangle stroke weight, line stroke weight, stroke color, and fill color. 

Using The Number Tool

To use the Number Tool, simply select the tool from the list of options so that it is highlighted. Then click the area on your map where you'd like to add your number. Once you click, your bubbled number will appear on the map. Once it appears, you can move it anywhere on your map by clicking and dragging. Click the upper right corner to adjust the size of your bubbled arrow. You can also adjust the radius, stroke opacity, fill opacity, stroke weight, font size, stroke color, fill color, and font color.

Using The Polygon Tool

To use the Polygon Tool, simply select the tool from the list of options so that it is highlighted. Then click the area on your map where you'd like to add your polygon. Once you click, you will need to continue clicking to draw your polygon. Click until you have reached your initial starting point to close the polygon. Click and drag any point in your polygon to adjust the size. You can also adjust the stroke opacity, fill opacity, stroke weight, stroke color, and fill color.

Using the Circle Tool

To use the Circle Tool, simply select the tool from the list of options so that it is highlighted. Then click the area on your map where you'd like to add your circle. Once you click, drag anywhere to expand your circle. Release your cursor when you're happy with the size of your circle. Click and drag any point in your circle to adjust the size. You can also adjust the stroke opacity, fill opacity, stroke weight, stroke color, and fill color.

Using The Polyline Tool

To use the Polyline Tool, simply select the tool from the list of options so that it is highlighted. Then click the area on your map where you'd like to add your polyline. Once you click, you will need to continue clicking to draw your polyline. Click until you have reached your initial starting point to close the polyline. Click and drag any point in your polyline to adjust the size. You can also adjust the stroke opacity, weight, and color.

Using The Rectangle Tool

To use the Rectangle Tool, simply select the tool from the list of options so that it is highlighted. Then click the area on your map where you'd like to add your rectangle. Once you click, drag anywhere to expand your rectangle. Release your cursor when you're happy with the size of your rectangle. Click and drag any point in your rectangle to adjust the size. You can also adjust the stroke opacity, fill opacity, stroke weight, stroke color, and fill color.

Using The Label Tool

To use the Label Tool, simply select the tool from the list of options so that it is highlighted. Then click the area on your map where you'd like to add your label. Once you click, your label will appear on the map. Once it appears, you can customize the text and move it anywhere on your map by clicking and dragging the dot. You can also adjust the font size, dot size, dot color, background color, and font color. 

Using The Text Tool

To use the Text Tool, simply select the tool from the list of options so that it is highlighted. Then click the area on your map where you'd like to add your text. Once you click, your text will appear on the map. Once it appears, you can customize the text and move it anywhere on your map by clicking and dragging the dot. You can also adjust the font size and color. 

Using The Icon Tool

To use the Icon Tool, simply select the tool from the list of options so that it is highlighted. Then select the icon you'd like to use. From there, click the area on your map where you'd like to add your icon. Once you click, your icon will appear on the map. 

Using The Image Tool

To use the Image Tool, simply select the tool from the list of options so that it is highlighted. Then upload the image you'd like to use in your map. From there, click the area on your map where you'd like to add your image. Once you click, your image will appear on the map.
